The governor of Anambra region, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, said the thugs who commit acts of violence in the province are not fighting their own riots but have decided to kidnap and kill the most lucrative criminal business in the province.
The Governor made the remarks while addressing the people of the Aguata Diocese when he was a special guest at the 2nd Session of the 6th Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Niger Province, Diocese of Aguata, Anglican, Anambra State. Monday, May 30th.
Governor Soludo said his government had declared a state of emergency with road safety and security, adding that his administration would not stop bringing peace and security to the government.
“Criminals that have plagued the people of the province for the past three years have been in control of many local government areas in the southern part of the province.
Evil criminals now see kidnapping and murder as a lucrative criminal business. It is no longer a riot of the liberation movement or any other form of political upheaval.
People who commit heinous crimes against the government have camps in the forests where they also worship idols but unfortunately, the people of Anambra Province are Christians and will not tolerate the practice of idolatry.
Therefore, we must stand up and defend our Christian faith from the threat of idolatry.
As Christians, we have a close bond with one another. The body of Christ is the only one who does not discriminate in the process of being Pentecostal, Anglican, or Catholic.
My assurance to Ndi Anambra is that security, peace, and order will return to the kingdom. We have a vision to build a living and prosperous world. That is what we are focusing on, ”he said
