Bandits attack and burn three cars in Katsina community

Security has been on high alert at the MILTAKWAS checkpoint in Jibia Local Government Area of ​​Katsina State following Monday’s raid on the checkpoint of gunmen who set fire to three vehicles.

According to sources, two of these vehicles belong to the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The third car is said to belong to one person.

The gunmen reportedly arrived at the checkpoint of more than 50 motorcycles just minutes before midnight and, shortly after the military patrol headed for the city of Jib, following intelligence reports that one group of gunmen was heading for the other side of town.

The gunmen reportedly set fire to vehicles and destroyed other items found at the checkpoint before retreating into the bush.

A spokesperson for the Nigeria Customs Service in Katsina, Isah Danbaba confirmed the incident, confirming further details later.

He said, “Yes, there was an attack. In the report we received, two operational vehicles and one police officer were set on fire by the attackers.

“One of these vehicles belongs to Customs and the other belongs to the Nigerian Immigration Service. As we speak, we are on our way to the place. ”
