BREAKING: Court affirms Sowore as AAC chairman

The Abuja Court of Appeals on Thursday confirmed Omoyele Sowore as National Chairperson of the African Action Congress.

The court ruled that the 2019 Supreme Court decision to dismiss Sowore as party chairman was out of court, adding that it was an internal matter.

In 2019, the Supreme Court, in a verdict handed down by Justice Iyang Ekwo, said it was satisfied that Sowore, who held the flag of the AAC president, had been formally suspended by the party’s National Executive Committee.

The court overturned the decision, reaffirming Sowore as national chairman, as opposed to a single Leonard Nzenwa.

The court then awarded the applicants an amount of N200,000.
