The Labor Party led by former Deputy National Chairman Callitus Okafor on Wednesday nominated Chief Digar Ezenwafor as a candidate for the 2023 general election.
Ezenwafor, former Assistant Special Envoy to Former Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra Province in politics and strategy, emerged as the LP representative at a national conference held at Garki in the Abuja area.
He is also said to have worked with the party for the party’s presidency, Peter Obi, as Head of Operations during his first term as governor of Anambra Province.
Okafor chaired the meeting in his capacity as acting chairman of the party.
Ezenwafor told party delegates that he was on a rescue mission in Nigeria.
He said, “I am in the process of rescuing Nigerians from the social, economic and political crises that are currently raging.”
He said having studied for two former governors in Anambra Province, he had what it takes to lead the country to economic freedom.
Okafor said his position and actions depended on the need to ensure justice, integrity and equality and emphasized that he had nothing against Obi, who was presented by the other party as a presidential candidate.
