Divorce: My wife denied me sex, deserted family, actor Kalu Ikeagwu tells court.

Nollywood actress Kalu Ikeagwu on Monday told the Ikeja High Court that his estranged wife, Ijeoma, allegedly left their marriage and denied sex after adopting their son.

The Nigerian News Agency reports that Ikeagwu, wearing a suit labeled LD / 8939HD / 2021, wants his six-year marriage to Ijeoma annulled.

The actress also wants the full rights of her three-year-old son and 10-year-old stepdaughter.

During cross-examination by the defense attorney, Ms. S.I. Amedu, Ikeagwu said his wife filled his wedding hall and sent him an email saying he was on his way to his father in Enugu.

However, he said contrary to what he said he saw her at Murtala Muhammed International Airport with the children a few days later.

He said, “I returned home from a trip on August 4, 2021 to find out that my wife had left our marriage home with the children to an unknown destination.

“I tried to contact him when I got home and found nothing. I e-mailed him that day and he replied that he had gone to his father’s house in Enugu.

“He told me that he was at his father’s house in Enugu and that four days later, I saw him at the airport in Lagos, heading for the God who knows where he is. In a post he said he was in Enugu. ”

Ikeagwu also dismissed the allegation that he had kicked his wife and children out of the house and failed to support himself.

He said, “I did not take him out of the house. Someone has to tell me why it takes four days to reach Enugu from Lagos.

“When you say ‘you are on the road’ it means a continuous sentence. It was a fact that he was on his way.

The actor also told the court that his wife denied having sex and poured water on him while he was asleep.

The applicant also said he did not know that his wife had lost her pregnancy due to a sexually transmitted disease while they were together.

“After our son was born, he refused to have sex with me,” she continued. I did not know she had a miscarriage due to an infection as I had not given her the disease.

“So far I have not seen a report in the paper that she has lost a child to STD. Although I didn’t ask her why she had lost a baby. ”

Ikeagwu said he stopped sending money to children to keep them and take care of them because his wife denied he was the father of his stepdaughter.

He said this was after he accused her of trying to have sex with the child and failed to accept the money he sent her.

“I last sent them money in November 2021. I stopped sending money because my wife denied that I was the father of my daughter and accused me of wanting to have sex with her,” he said.

As for why he wanted to be adopted by his illegitimate daughter earlier, the actor said he was aware that his wife wanted to move the children.

He said, “I want the right to have two children. The reason I wanted to be withdrawn was because my wife had turned me away from my adopted daughter and at that point, I got the advice that she wanted to fly the kids abroad.

“I never married a woman before I married my wife. I married him after finding his daughter.

“I have previously said that the issue of withdrawal is because I feel like he wants to use me. My lord, look at the preceding how I treated a girl in the first place.

“I am an actor and travel to places inside and outside Nigeria where I can spend five days to one month.

“For now, it may be difficult but I think about the future when I remarry and find a stable wife.”

Earlier, Judge Christopher Balogun ordered the children to play with their father in court and ordered the defendant to file receipts for the children’s school fees.

Balogun said, “According to the Child Rights Act, you cannot deny children the best education even if you are arguing with your wife.

“If as a courtesy I give you a divorce, and if your wife is in Enugu and lives in Lagos, why should I give you the right to take care of a 10-year-old girl while her mother is still alive?

“The Supreme Court ruled that children of that age are not the property of their father, they need the care and attention of their biological mother.

“The reason a baby girl can not be kept under her mother’s control is because her mother is mentally disturbed or affected by infidelity.

“When a girl starts her period, you as a father do not know what to do. You will be afraid of blood. The girl is soft. Your case is serious because you have been charged. ”

The judge adjourned the case to June 23 for further consideration.
