Georgia father kills 1-year-old daughter, mother, grandmother and himself

A man abducted his one-year-old daughter and shot her dead before shooting himself a week later on Sunday, June 12.

Police found the bodies of both Darian Javaris Bennett, 38, and his daughter, Jaquari Bennett, a week later in Clayton County, Georgia, WSB-TV Atlanta reported, citing the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

The night before, Darian Bennett shot the mother of his child and his grandmother in a Covington home before fleeing with the child, which led to Amber Alert across the province.

The child’s mother Keashawn Washington, 38, died of gunshot wounds, and her grandmother, Peggy Burns, 63, was seriously injured, the sheriff’s office said.

Darian Bennett shot Burns in the head, but the woman managed to tell police she shot him and her daughter and then abducted young Jaquari before being rushed to a local hospital.

Bennett reportedly called 911 to admit he was planning to kill the baby with him at 7 a.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Riverdale police used GPS to track his car which he found abandoned in front of Riverdale United Methodist Church.

When police arrived, they said they heard gunshots several times a week later and found the bodies of Bennett and Jaquari.
