Gunmen abduct CAN Chairman in Jos.

A Catholic priest in charge of St Anthony’s Parish, Angware community in the Jos East Local Government Area of ​​Plateau State, Rev. James Kantoma, who is also the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria at the council site, has been abducted by gunmen.
Kantoma was reportedly abducted from his home in a public square by gunmen on Sunday night.
Angware community resident Silas Joshua confirmed the abduction of the clergy to Auntyamebo blog in Jos on Monday.
Joshua said, “When the gunmen arrived at the community at night, they went straight to Rev Father’s house,
“Some youths in the area, who had been reported, tried to stop and chased them into the forest but the gunmen started firing everywhere and ended up with Rev Father,
CAN Regional Chairman Polycarp Lubo also confirmed the clergyman abduction, describing the incident as “sad”.
Lubo said, “Since his abduction, we have not heard from him or the kidnappers until this morning. This is very sad. But we pray that nothing will happen to him where he is. But how long will it be before innocent civilians continue to be kidnapped or held hostage? ”
Alabo Alfred, a spokesman for the kidnapping investigation unit, said the commander was aware of the incident and had deployed police and men in the anti-kidnapping unit.
“Our men are already working to ensure that the victim gets his freedom and arrested those who kidnapped him,” added PPRO.
