Makinde gets second term ticket

Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde has been declared the winner of the People Democratic Party’s first general election in the state.
The governor received 1,040 votes, and his rival, Azeem Gbolarumi, received two votes.
The ruling party official, Abdullahi Maibasira, announced Makinde the winner of the contest as he received the most eligible votes.
Makinde, in response to his victory, said he was “very happy” with the support of the people when he asked them to support him to win the 2023 general election.
He said he enjoyed the support of the people because he had been true to them since he took office in 2019.
