The Kano state Police Order also stated that the ban on the operation of commercial motorcycles in the Kano city area is still in effect.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, on Friday in Kano.
This order seeks to remind law-abiding and law-abiding citizens that the ban on motorcycle transport (Achaba / Okada), still applies.
“The order has instructed all Special Police officers in the Kano area (ye) to continue to enforce the ban.
“Any person or team that violates this ban will be arrested and prosecuted,” Haruna-Kiyawa said.
He also advised motorists to continue following the rules and regulations of the road for safety and other road users.
“Police Monitoring Teams are stationed at convenient locations near Kano boarders to monitor the activities of road users,” he added.
A spokesman for the army urged residents to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station so that they could respond immediately and not take the law into their own hands.
He confirmed that strict surveillance, raids on criminal hideouts and black spots would continue throughout the province.
