The governor of Ekiti has announced a donation of N50 million to the church on behalf of the NGF.

He said: “It is a terrible and unusual attack on people who cannot go out to cultivate or serve God in peace. We are all shocked. Just as Emperor Akeredolu said, these people will not go unpunished. They will be hunted down and sentenced. But this does not save lives or save the injured from trauma.

“As human leaders we will redouble our efforts. This is happening all over the region and we are concerned. We know how worried you will be. And we know that this is something that bothers our minds. At the moment, the government at the state and provincial levels is working to prosecute the perpetrators. Colleagues at the Governors’ Forum have asked me to donate R50 million to the Catholic Church to repair the families of the victims. This is a crime against humanity. ”

Responding to Bishop Jude Arogundade, who described the attack as “extremely serious”, he urged the authorities to ensure that the perpetrators of the killings and their supporters were arrested.

“Thank you for coming and for your comments. How did we get here? Have we lost our minds and personalities? Even in war times, no one kills children or women. No one is attacking the church.

“I call on you leaders of the country, I see that we must speak and we must speak frankly. This will not happen without the support of other powerful people. Those who follow this no matter how powerful they are should be sentenced.

How do we present ourselves as the people of old? Ondo State does not deserve this. Mankind does not deserve this. This is not a good introduction. People are laughing at us, ”said the pastor.
