PDP hierarchy, Atiku to consider a favourable running mate – BoT chair

The National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, head of Atiku Abubakar, and the Peoples Democratic Party will work together to produce a candidate for the party, said PDP BoT chairman Walid Jibrin.
Atiku won the PDP presidential ticket in the 2023 general election during a special party meeting held over the weekend.
Jibrin revealed this in a statement, on Monday, saying Atiku’s victory as flag bearer in the 2023 race is a team victory as it marks a national victory.
The statement read in part: “The BoT congratulates Sen. David Mark and his entire committee for organizing one of the leading national conferences following the Port-Harcourt conference led by Governor (Ifeanyi) Okowa of Delta State in 2018.
He called on all faithful parties to work together to advance the presidential race to win the 2023 presidential election to free the country from the scourge of the current state.
He added, “Finally, the BoT will help the party and certainly Minister Adamawa himself to come out and welcome the Deputy President from southern Nigeria.”
Other names of prominent South African political leaders, such as Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, have begun appearing on the list for the role.
