The police inspector, Monday, Gabriel, has been arraigned in Lagos High Court on charges of murdering his colleague, Sergeant Felix Okago.
The man appeared in court on Tuesday, June 1, on a charge of murder.
The prosecutor, led by L.S. Sani, said Gabriel shot the victim dead on May 31, 2020, adding that the case was a punishment under Section 222 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The case reads, “That you, on Monday Gabriel, May 13, 2020 or at about 4.30 am at the FIRS Head Office, Awolowo Way, Ikoyi, Lagos District, have illegally killed Sergeant Felix by shooting him with a gun. guns. ”
Defendant has pleaded not guilty.
Judge Sherifat Sonaike adjourned the case to October 26.
The accused, on the day of the tragedy, opened fire on his colleagues, after a disagreement between them led to Okago’s death and others escaped unharmed.
Trying to flee, the officer grabbed the bakkie and headed for the third bridge, where he fired shots. He was later arrested by Bariga police.
