An American rapper, FBG Cash was shot dead in Chicago, Friday morning, June 10. He was 31 years old.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the real name of FBG Cash Tristan Hamilton was shot dead inside a car around 5:32 am in the Auburn Gresham area at the 1600 block on West 81st Street. A 29-year-old woman in the car was also shot but is still alive.
Police said a black four-door sedan, possibly a Cadillac, emerged from the car in which the two were sitting. The unidentified suspect got out and opened fire before boarding the car and fleeing.
FBG Cash received multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman victim was hit in the left and upper arm and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in a critical condition.
Investigators are currently investigating the shooting, although they have not yet identified the suspect or arrested anyone. The motive for the killings is unknown.
FBG Cash released his debut album The Heart of the Streets in January 2021. He was due to release a new song and video called “Crazy Lane” on Friday. Prior to his death he was known as one of the leading rapper artists in Chicago.
Cash’s death comes less than two years after the shooting death of fellow FBG physician FBG Duck in broad daylight in Chicago in August 2020. The murder suspects were identified as members of O-Block, a gang in Chicago.
